One of the more unexpected side effects of owning an iPhone for me has been the Irish radio app. I can listen to Irish radio (RTE. It’s gaelic acronym for Irish radio) on the way to work.
The Irish are a chatty bunch. And I think this has contributed to the continued vitality of the medium there.
Radio is alive and well in Ireland.
I have also come across this treasure trove of more than 200 Irish radio documentaries from the RTE radio archives. There’s an app for that too!
This morning i was listening to this. A documentary about three professional Irish poker players.
This one is good too. It’s about Irish immigration to Argentina.
And finally an awesome doc about Scottish/Irish football club Glasgow Celtic. If you like regional accents you will love this.
