OK, this book is about to be released. It will be the best book ever about advertising. It costs a couple of hundred bucks. But it will be worth it.

As far as i can gather, Amil Gargano is about to publish the story of the greatest advertising that ever was: Carl Ally. Later Ally and Gargano. This is a cause of great excitement to me.

Carl Ally was the anti-DDB. DDB was gooey New York craftmanship, Carl Ally closed the sale! Carl Ally was a highly decorated fighter pilot in WW2. Guess what, he was nuts. That’s why the Mad Men drank all that scotch.

They were very overtly trying to sell you something. They punched you in the face with their monosyllabic words and concrete propositions. And the strategies were iron-clad. these cats thought big.

i did a blog about Carly Ally ages ago. Funny guy.
