Nike invested heavily in him and created a golf brand directly tied to the hottest thing to ever swing a club. Tiger, literally, is/was money. If you wanted your communications to be associated with can’t miss success you put Tiger in your ads. He kicked ass AND he was squeaky clean. Perfect!
